It’s a huge and fabulous start to the New Year for the U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program. PaYS representatives flew to San Antonio, TX to support our Soldiers, meet with current #ArmyPaYS partners at the All-American Bowl event, and the most incredible milestone is we signed our 500th partner into the program—but more on that in a moment.
The PaYS team attended a collaborative discussion group “Building a Stronger Future Together” in which Army and professional leaders discussed improving issues within their communities and the U.S. Army’s nationwide outreach efforts. The topic of the PaYS table was a bit different however; conversation reflected best practices and methods of success and/or improvement for using the PaYS program. PaYS partner Eastman Chemicals’ representative Jerry Bush was also present. He provided great insight through their use of the PaYS program and hiring PaYS Soldiers. It was an enlightening discussion with one of the best Army PaYS partners of the program.
Following the discussion group the excitement rippled throughout the day. General Robert W. Cone, officiating the ceremony, welcomed Facebooks’ Veterans Program and Initiative Recruiter, Amanda Talbott, “Since Fiscal Year 2000, PaYS has been assisting Soldiers in securing future civilian employment by providing our nation’s employers with a pool of highly-skilled, motivated and responsible candidates when they transition back into the civilian sector. We are excited to be able to now offer our Soldiers future career opportunities with our newest partner, Facebook, Inc.” Amanda signed the partnership agreement, making Facebook, Inc. our 500th partner. It was definitely a ceremony to remember.
Facebook, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have you as part of the team! Thank you and welcome! Hooah!
